Founder

"For over two decades, I’ve served as an owner-CEO, overseeing multiple companies. My journey has included launching startups in the U.S., Canada, and Luxembourg, and managing corporations with annual revenues exceeding $60 million. My family and I have enjoyed living in vibrant cities like Vancouver, Calgary, and New York City.

I have successfully led companies in financial planning, agriculture, and technology, spanning sectors like healthcare, real estate, and human resources. My efforts resulted in the sale of three companies—oone privately and two to publicly traded firms.

Early in my career, I faced the challenges of starting a family, doubling our mortgage, and leaving my job as an economist to launch my first company. I struggled with balance, often sharing too much or too little with my staff and feeling unprepared for difficult discussions. My insecurities prevented me from seeking valuable input, limiting my achievements.

I eventually learned that exceptional CEOs rely on trusted advisors within their board and management team, and seek guidance from unbiased external confidants with substantial business experience. Realizing this earlier would have made me a more effective leader and spared me many challenges.

Prioritizing my efforts was essential. By focusing on core activities that demanded my attention and delegating routine tasks to my capable staff, I achieved a more balanced life. This allowed me to allocate quality time to my family without compromising my business responsibilities.

My diverse experiences offer valuable insights for owner-CEOs looking to understand their roles better and drive business growth."
